I have a sincere passion for what makes an outstanding teacher and enjoy exploring this as a Teacher and a Leader. I believe that all children, regardless of background, should enjoy learning, be shown the highest expectations and be given the same chance to reach their potential.
I also believe that Teachers can be inspired, engaged and coached to realise and achieve marginal gains in their practice. I’m mostly excited by entering into regular, meaningful discussions about pedagogy, and there is nothing like the buzz of an engaged, united staff talking about learning and how to improve.
I am an experienced teacher and Middle Leader, in addition to working with other schools in the local authority to develop teaching, learning and leadership of core subjects. I have worked closely with Primary Schools in North London and Essex, predominantly from areas of high deprivation, to improve pupil progress and attainment.
I have taught across the Primary age range and use coaching as a tool for sustainable change; supporting teachers and leaders to raise attainment for pupils.
I have worked hard to develop my skills in the teaching and learning of Maths. Using the research of Bruner, Drury, Carruthers and Worthington, I support schools to inspire pupils to become multi-dimensional thinkers with a growth mindset, who thrive on solving problems.
Due to the successes of these approaches to teaching and learning, I have twice been invited to share my findings at National Maths conferences.
It was clear that TT Education's Path to Success methodology linked very closely with the work I was doing and I now enjoy working with numerous teachers and leaders, focusing on all of the Primary curriculum.
In addition to my career in education I am passionate about my participation in sport. I currently play National League Futsal for my local club and enjoy training on a regular basis as well as playing cricket and golf. I enjoy running and have completed the Brighton marathon and other shorter events, raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support.
I am a proud father to two young girls and love the day to day joys involved in bringing up a family. Seeing them grow and develop has had a profound impact on my teaching role.
