I am motivated by people, by learning and by creative opportunities. I enjoy meeting new people and developing new skills. I am naturally very curious and positive in my approach to life.
I have 18 years of teaching experience in primary education, including early years, in a range of schools from half-form to four-form entry. During the last 8 years, I have been headteacher of a small, rural primary school. One of the joys of small schools is that you know every child and family but also that you get to become Jack-of-all-trades in school leadership, as often there is no one else to do the job apart from you.
My background is an honours science degree in Geography and Geology with a focus throughout my teaching career on Science, Design Technology and most recently Digital Technology and Engineering. With 8 years of experience in primary headship, I have NPQH and more recently completed training in supporting children with trauma, attachment theory and safeguarding.
My background is in the Sciences with specialism in Geography as well as STEM subjects. I have most recently been involved in coding, technology and engineering clubs in school. I am also very interested in leadership development alongside coaching and mentoring.
Spending time with friends and family, walking our dog, knitting socks and creative hobbies, gardening, travelling, musical theatre and cinema as well as live music.
