I have taught over a range of phases, i.e. primary through to university and have been headteacher and school improvement / interim manager in a range of different schools across the country.
Alongside working in schools and colleges I have been running national and international projects with organisations such as the DFE, Education Training Foundation, the EU and the British Council.
There is always something to learn. A teacher, trainer or an observer can always learn as well as the students. Schools and colleges are such diverse places and it is both fascinating to see all the different ways things are done and rewarding to be able to share these.
Over the years I have been asked to teach a wide and sometimes surprising range of subjects. Working as a senior leader in primary schools you get to have a go at everything but as far as secondary goes and FE, English / drama, maths and history are the areas where I have had most experience.
Walking – preferably with a nice tea room at the end - or playing badminton with my son, even thought he beats me now!
