Pupils at Goxhill Primary School have taken part in Shakespeare workshops with an experienced drama teacher.
Jerome Monahan, of TT Education taught the pupils about Shakespeare and recreated some of his plays.
Jerome spent two days in the school with pupils aged eight to 10, exploring works such as Romeo and Juliet, A Comedy of Errors, Macbeth, Hamlet and Twelfth Night.
He said “It would be easy to think Shakespeare’s language might be a bit intimidating for this age group, but not if they are encouraged to animate the words though a variety of active approaches.
“We covered a huge amount and the children should be really proud of themselves.”
“The priority of the day was giving the children as many chances as possible to get their tongues around Shakespeare’s language making it come alive: exploring the images it contains and the very different feelings and body language it can generates.”
