One of the qualities we all strive to develop in our pupils is a love of learning and a curiosity in the world around them. One of the most effective ways to support or pupils to do this is to help them to develop a positive-learning mindset encouraging personal attributes such as resilience, determination and ‘stickability’. The impact such skills can have on children’s thinking and learning skills are undeniable but how do you make the move to being a thinking school where learners are independent, ‘in-charge’ of their own learning and where the language of learning is an intrinsic part of the learning process?
There are many ways we can approach a positive-learning mindset with children but in order for any new approach to be effective and successful, the intent needs to be clear, effectively implemented and have noticeable impact. This course explores the research behind the growth mindset approach and tried and tested methods of implementation in primary schools.
