GPS SATs 2022: 'Head Start' Workshop

There is a lot of worry surrounding the return of SATs in the summer. To support teachers and leaders in preparing for these tests’ return, this practical half-day course revisits previous grammar and spelling SATs papers, and provides you with a range of effective strategies to prepare your pupils for summer 2022.

  • Putting the GPS SATs into the context of the other changes over the last three years

About this INSET

To get everyone feeling confident and secure about the return of SATs in summer 2022, we’ve brought back and updated our popular SATs ‘Head Start’ workshops. This half-day workshop-style course will:

  • help you to reflect on the 2019 KS2 GPS SATs papers
  • analyse question structures, expectations and potential barriers
  • move beyond by-rote learning to focus on a conceptually-rich understanding of grammar and spelling: something that is more consistent, reliable, and enjoyable for your children
  • introduce a range of practical and effective strategies for the classroom

You will also receive a comprehensive analysis document about the 2019 KS2 SATs papers for grammar and spelling.
