Meaningful Maths: Developing Lesson Design

Just when you think you’ve finally got your head around lesson planning and the new curriculum someone decides that there is a better way to do things. Changing your approach to maths lessons and everything that entails can, at times, seem overwhelming especially when you are trying to include all the different mastery elements that make maths lessons effective. So how do you do it? How do you design an effective lesson? This INSET will:

About this INSET

Part of the journey towards teaching for mastery in maths is developing lesson design. Effective lesson design is vital in ensuring that lesson time is used to the best effect to facilitate pupils make progress, develop skills and master mathematical concepts. There are many considerations when plotting out lesson design so this training will:
