Computing in the 21st century is very different from what most staff learned in school! So how best to teach it in an interesting way that will support pupils’ progress? This course will give you some quick wins to enable you to plan for your pupils’ success.
The new Ofsted framework rightly shifts our focus beyond the ‘core’ and towards foundation subjects; but while we may be relatively confident in some of this, computing can be an area of particular concern for us as teachers and leaders: our subject knowledge may be shaky; resources may be scarce; and we may not even know where to begin.
This course provides five ideas for improving our computing provision, to meet and even exceed requirements in the 2014 curriculum.
