About this course

This SMSC course for primary teachers will provide you with the tools and knowledge to evaluate provision across your school. Experience a day full of practical games and ideas to use straight away that will encourage children to take an active role in their learning.

This course has been updated to take account of the 2021 RSHE requirements, and Ofsted’s latest thinking following their 2020-1 subject inspections and their research review series.

  • Understand how Ofsted will evaluate schools’ provision for SMSC, including fundamental British Values, and exploring common SMSC misconceptions
  • Consider how pupils develop respect for others from different faiths and cultures
  • Discover how to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of your SMSC provision
  • Discuss how to use talk led, active and collaborative approaches to enrich and develop SMSC
  • Explore effective ways to develop pupils’ resilience and thinking skills
  • Generate ideas for ways to improve your staff and pupils’ wellbeing

By attending this course you will be able to develop leadership and teaching approaches that will encourage children to include all elements of SMSC across all aspects of their learning.
