About this INSET

This INSET training is aimed at music coordinators who want to further improve the quality of this important subject in their schools. Along with a range of new ideas, including the very latest thinking from Ofsted and educational researchers, the training also draws on and develops ideas from two short courses: Composites and Components; and Thirty Second Challenge. 

By attending this course you will:

  • Use Ofsted’s own curriculum design model to develop a more sophisticated music provision in your school
  • Find out what ‘disciplinary knowledge’ means in music, and how you can teach it
  • Explore practical games and activities that will help your children talk about music, and develop their musical vocabulary
