About this course

Course Description

Raising Attainment in Primary R.E. provides effective strategies to support and drive higher standards in your children's R.E. work.

This one-day CPD course will help you to link your R.E. provision to current developments in curriculum design: developing pupils' love of the subject, helping them to draw on other subjects but also using R.E. to inform those subjects – all without compromising on academic standards.

The course will introduce you to a number of collaborative activities and games that you can easily implement to help children to explore religious ideas, develop their reasoning skills, and deepen their knowledge and understanding.

By attending this exciting new course you will:

  • Explore how to bring your curriculum in line with existing guidance and Ofsted principles.
  • Unpick important R.E. skills that match other areas of learning.
  • Develop high standards of SMSC, including PSHE, kindness and wellbeing.
  • See how R.E. can impact on tolerance, respect and other British Values.
  • Discover practical approaches and games that can be easily implemented in the classroom.
  • Look at how R.E. supports learning and informs other subjects such as English, maths, geography.
  • Explore what progression and assessment can look like in Religious Education.
  • Understand the guidance around the parental right to withdraw pupils from R.E. teaching.
  • Learn new ways to develop pupils' love of the subject.
