Course Description

Raise standards in science by using creative, practical and achievable ways to inspire primary scientists. This dynamic CPD course promotes high quality teaching and learning in this core curriculum area.

Take part in dozens of ideas, games and approaches devised to enhance your children’s natural curiosity about the world around them.

  • Raise standards in science by using creative and achievable ways to encourage children to work scientifically
  • Develop effective strategies to manage practical enquiry within the primary classroom
  • Explore progression within scientific enquiry and deepen your understanding of the ‘Working Scientifically’ programme of study
  • Develop your knowledge and understanding of scientific vocabulary and concepts
  • Learn about the importance of making meaningful cross-curricular links through a powerful hook, exploring prior experience, understanding context and having a clear purpose for scientific investigation
  • Explore the power of talk and higher order thinking skills as a means to develop curiosity and support learning at greater depth
