About this INSET

Parents are often full of enthusiasm and support for their school, but, when the relationship breaks down, TAs can sometimes find themselves in the first round of ‘challenging conversations’. That might be at the school gate, or even while out shopping in the local area. This INSET will give you lots of practical strategies to improve your communication skills and support your own wellbeing through these difficult conversations. By attending this training, you will:

  • Understand how to communicate safely and effectively
  • Explore the issues, barriers and triggers that lie behind confrontational behaviour
  • Learn to embrace ‘challenging conversations’, to manage conflict and maintain positive relationships
