Year leaders are central in the drive towards outstanding teaching, learning and progress in schools. Throughout 2021 and 2022 there will be a range of challenges, some not yet known, that year leaders will be facing both in terms of learners’ wellbeing and their cognitive development. This course will explore the most recent developments, share best practice and advice, and help you develop the essential skills of a year leader to support all learners and the challenges they may face.

About this course

Throughout the session, there will be opportunities to ask questions, to make sure that you leave with practical ideas that relate to your specific situation. There will also be plenty of opportunities to look at case studies and how others approach their role that will provide new practical approaches that you may not yet have considered. We will also be looking at key issues around mental health and wellbeing.
